Steven Kelly  Edwards
Steven Kelly Edwards, 57, Springfield, MO. passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, in his home, surrounded by family. He was born on April 4, 1960, in Asheville, North Carolina, to Hurley R. And Joy D. (Nickle) Edwards. He worked as an engineer for MCS Services, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Engineer Corps.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers: David and Nick Edwards. Steven is survived by his daughter Stephanie Edwards, two sons: Damian Edwards and Jason Cox, one brother: Bob Letterman, (wife Susan, daughter Gail) two sisters: Sheryl Armstrong (husband Kevin, daughters Sonya, Sara, Staci, and son Kyle) and Jeri Stevens (husband Mark, son Adam Hayter).
During his short but well lived life, Steve was a scholar of history, literature, and religion. He worked briefly at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where he enjoyed plays and the ballet. Steve was funny and was known for his style, intellect, and quick wit. He traveled the United States, as well as Germany, Italy, and France.
Per Steven's wishes, no services will be held. Cremation is under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, or to the Veterans Group of your choice.
