Condolence: I am so sad to hear of Steve's passing. His humor, intellect and kindness live on in many of us. Steve had a brilliant mind and was so interesting. And what a wonderful sense of humor. I will miss him deeply. My deepest condolences to the family. I feel privileged to have known him.

Condolence: My condolences to Steves family and friends. I met Steve in elementary school at Hilldale. He was always smiling and was nice to everyone. I did not know him well but I do remember him from those days many years ago. We were both in the same age group. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Hopefully he didn't suffer. RIP my friend.

Condolence: I was separated from the maternal side of my family at four years of age. I had little contact with them throughout my life, but it was not of my choosing. I first met Steve in the 80s during a short visit with my mother. I remember him at the time as being very young, he didn't say much and I assumed he was quiet by nature. The next and, unfortunately, last time I met him was at Mom's funeral.

He struck me then as somebody I would like as we seemed to have similar interests. We talked a lot that evening and I felt his health wasn't good. He looked prematurely old in comparison with the first meeting and shortly after, I heard he was ill. I only wish I could have known him better but it wasn't to be.

Rest in Peace Brother. I wish it could have been different. I really do!

Condolence: I really met Steve through Jeri. Jeri was Peggy's (my sister) best friend and she knew Steve well. Steve came to my house with Jeri to visit Peggy, which she has ALS.
It made Peggy's day to see Steve and Jeri. He was so kind and loving. They shared memories together. Peggy cried over Steve, after learning of his illness. She loved him so much. My husband and I met Steve and Jeri at a restaurant where Stephanie worked. We all had such a good time together. Steve was a very loving and caring brother and father, and man. He will be greatly missed.

Condolence: One of my most favorite memories of my brother in law is the time he was in the upstairs window and dropped a firecracker into my jacket hood as I passed under the window. He could hear me running up the stairs and he started yelling that it wasn't him it was Jeri. He ran out of the room and I chased him down the street and by the time I caught him we were both exhausted and fell down laughing. Good times Steve!

Condolence: Even though Steve and I were not close as adults my childhood memories are always yelling , reprimanding and smacking him. LOL! As the older sister in charge of 2 heathens, my teenage parenting skills were lacking. Once, I was picking Steve and Jeri up in town and they were not where they were supposed to be. When I finally found them 2 blocks away from destination pick up place I yelled, screamed and for the 8 mile ride home lectured them. I would turn around and try to smack them but they just laughed and dodged all attempts of being hit. I just kept trying to tell them of the hatchet murderer that was supposedly in Ridgecrest. Steve asked why I was so worried and my reply was because they were my brother and sister and I loved them. And in typical Steve humor .....he laughed. So now baby brother I will say it again, I love you and you will always be with us.

Condolence: We had a blob of a good time, and some hard lumps too. I turned to you for guidance during life's challenges, always knowing you would give me the truth, and sound advice. I truly would not be who I am were it not for my 57 years with you. Keep the light on for me little brother, I'll be there in the blink of an eye. I love you Billy.
