Obituary for Larry L. Dailey

Larry L. Dailey
Larry Lee Dailey, 75, of Springfield passed away July 16, 2018, Larry was born October 24th 1942 in Sedalia MO.
Larry was a graduate from Parkview High School of Springfield in 1960. He then spent four years in the United States Navy. Larry was aboard the USS Kearsarge for two separate astronaut capsule recoveries, one of the recoveries was for the Faith 7 capsule that orbited the earth 22 times carrying Astronaut Gordon Cooper on May 16th 1963.
Upon discharge from the Navy in 1966, Larry returned home to Springfield where he met Nancy Dixon in 1968. They were married on March 7th 1969, with Larry adopting two boys Greg & Chris Dailey. Soon to follow was the birth of Lisa Dailey.
Larry was a member of Teamster Local 245 for thirty-one years. During the first ten years Larry worked for Hiland Dairy. Upon leaving Hiland, Larry then worked for Roadway Express starting in 1976, and worked there until retirement in May 1997.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence & Ada Dailey. The surviving family members are his brother Grant Dailey of Terra Haute IN, Wife Nancy Dailey, Sons Greg & Chris Dailey, Daughter Lisa Brainard, Grandchildren Kristin, Parker, Madison Dailey, Tyler & Luke Brainard, and two Great Grandchildren Isaiah & Carter Dunn. .
. Services for Larry will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Interment with full military honors will be at 11:00 am Monday, July 23, 2018 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery 5201 South Southwood Springfield MO.
