Obituary for William Shook Shook

William Shook  Shook
Bill Shook, 91, of Springfield, MO, passed away on May 16, 2018 at Point Lookout Nursing Home and Rehab in Branson, MO. He is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born March 19, 1927 in Republic, MO to parents Edwin and Lorene Shook. His siblings were Margaret and Tom. They enjoyed a close relationship growing up on a dairy farm along with grandmother, Aunts and Uncles. Bill served his country during World War II as a radioman third class in the Navy. After returning from the war, Bill worked as General Manager of Feed Mill Operations at Barnes Feed Store for owner Clell Barnes. Bill eventually bought and owned Barnes Feed Store for nearly 50 years.
Bill married Ruth Hyacinth Ward on January 11, 1948, at Second Baptist Church. Bill and Ruth enjoyed 61 years of marriage and had a wonderful life together filled with family, friends and the church. Bill served as Chairman of the Deacons for Second Baptist Church for 32 years.
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Cindy at Branson; and Loree Cox, husband Scott and two grandchildren Caleb and Kylee of Dothan, AL; Brother-in-law Leo Marti-Balaguer; sister-in-law Betty Shook; many special nieces, nephews and friends in his church family.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00pm at Greenlawn East Funeral Home on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 21 at 1:00pm at Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Yeakley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the missions fund at Second Baptist Church at 3111 E. Battlefield, Springfield, MO 65802.
