Obituary for Jerry Allen Johnson

Jerry Allen Johnson 80, Springfield, MO. passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, after a long illness. Jerry was born on July 24, 1937, in Diggins, MO. to Roy Edward and Maude ( Cornelius) Johnson. Jerry retired from Sweetheart Cup as a machine operator. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Jerry loved gambling at the Down Stream Casino, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Vernon Johnson, Harold Johnson, Hazel Kennemer and Phyllis Brewer. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Lou Johnson, they were married on January 7, 1980. People always said that they were the cutest kids on the block. He is also survived by his son Brian Johnson, and his siblings: Roy "Bud" Johnson, Betty Blevins, Virginia Ouellette, Louise Cornelius, Loretta Duncan, Ruby Powell and Wayne Morehouse. Jerry was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. one hour before services. Burial with Military Honors will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in Missouri Veterans' cemetery.
