Obituary for Betty Marie Sumpter (Fidler)
Betty Marie Sumpter, age 93 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Parkview Healthcare Facility Bolivar, MO. She was born October 30, 1924, in Terre Haute, IN, to Claude and Dorothy Marie (Mathias) Fidler. She was united in marriage to Jesse J. Sumpter August 1945, and to this union two sons were born.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jesse James Sumpter; two half-sisters: Joan Baugher, and Marian Booker; and two half-brothers: Claude Fidler, and Craig Fidler.
Betty is survived by her two sons: James “Jim” Sumpter and his wife Linda of Eugene, OR, and Wayne Sumpter and his wife Marilyn of Bolivar, MO; three granddaughters: Jaime Sumpter, Janessa Ketchum both of Eugene, OR, and Karen Sumpter of Bolivar, MO; two great grandsons: Darius and Ryan Sumpter; and two great great grandchildren: Elijah, and Gracyn; as well as many other relatives and friends.
According to Betty’s wishes her body will be cremated and an inurnment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery Bolivar, MO, at a later date. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
