Obituary for Dorothy Mae Wisecup (Wells)
Dorothy Mae Wisecup, age 93, of Springfield, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Ackert Park Skilled Nursing Facility in University City, MO. She was born on May 5, 1924 to Clarence and Ella Wells. She was a lifelong member of South Haven Baptist Church. She married Glen Wisecup on April 21, 1946 and they were married 67 loving years.
Dorothy’s proudest moments were as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her brother Leslie Wells, her two children: Jeff Wisecup and Glenda (Wisecup) Hanstein (husband Barry), four grandchildren: Tyler Wisecup (wife Alysa), Tiffany Wisecup, Tucker Wisecup and Claire Hanstein and her great grandchild: Monroe Adeline Wisecup, whom she met only a few months ago.
Dorothy left a legacy of love and friendship. That legacy remains within the hearts of her family and friends who will cherish the memories and life lessons she shared. We will remember her love of family, her willingness to help and her lifelong friendships. Dorothy also shared her husband’s love of baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals, she eagerly anticipated each new season and watched every game she could.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy’s name to the One Heart Family Ministries; supporting childhood fostering and adoption in Missouri www.ohfm.org.
Services for Dorothy will be held Saturday, January 27th at 1 o’clock pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 North National, Springfield, MO.
