Obituary for Frederick Laurent Test
A former resident of Wakefield and Matunuck, Rhode Island, age 92, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. He was the adored husband of Janice, nee Schuelke, and father of Fred, Jr. (Shannon), Richard (Janice), and Joan (Abdo Soliman). Frederick served in the Navy during WWII and received a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. He was Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island from the early 1950's to 1990, and was Department Chair for several years. Frederick loved sailing, swimming in the ocean, playing tennis, skiing, fishing, growing fruits and vegetables, and bird watching. Frederick and Janice were members of the Kingston Congregational Church. Services will be held in Springfield, Missouri with burial in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
