Obituary for Helen Mae Duncan (Duncan)

Helen Mae Duncan 85, Springfield, MO. passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017, after a long illness. She was born October 27, 1932 to Dan and Ethel (Patton) Duncan. She grew up in Bois D'Arc, MO. and graduated from Bois D' Arc school with a one year scholarship to M.S.U. She worked at Biedermans Furniture Store until they closed, then she went to work at Empire Bank until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, a brother, Glen and sister Barbara Partin, and two nieces; Glenda Carlson and Beth Manley. Helen is survived by her two beloved sisters; Joan Duncan and Wanda Manley and her husband Jim, her sister-in-law: Norma Duncan, her beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, whom she loved and cherished. Her family was her life and she was the center of our family, who kept us all together. She had so many wonderful friends she worked with and at her church. Everyone who knew her, loved her. She asked Jesus into her heart at an early age. God blessed her with a wonderful loving church family at Grant Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, she loved all of them. Helen and I had such a special bond, the only way I can explain it, is to say she was my whole world. Helen your cancer is gone, you are in heaven with Jesus now.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. today, Saturday, December 23, 2017, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow, in Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before services at the funeral home.
