Obituary for Victoria Martha Jenkins
Victoria Jenkins age 68 of Halfway, passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 18th, 2017. She moves to her heavenly home after a long battle with cancer.
Vickie was born in Boston Massachusetts to John and Elsie Hansen on August 22nd, 1949. Vickie moved to Missouri when she married her 'country bumpkin' Cecil Jenkins, Jr. of Halfway February 22, 1971. They were blessed with four children, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson Philip Jenkins, Jr., and sisters.
She is survived by her beloved husband Cecil Jenkins, Jr.; her children Karen Allen and Terrie Smith both of Springfield, Philip Jenkins and John Jenkins of Halfway; her brother Alf “Sonny” Hansen of Illinois as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Vickie loved spending time at home with family, playing cards with friends, bingo and attending the performances and sporting events of her children and grandchildren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Pitts Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your donation to the American Cancer Society of Southwest Missouri 2926 E. Battlefield Springfield, MO 65804, (417) 881 4668.
