Obituary for Roberta Bernadine Gutcher

Roberta Gutcher, 88 years of age, of Springfield, MO passed peacefully Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
Born January 23, 1929 to Dave and Minnie Sandeen at home, Roberta grew up and attended school in Albia and graduated with the class of 1946. She was president of the Mantua County 4-H and passed the the 4-H tradition to her children.
Roberta married Junior (Fernal) Gutcher on June 17, 1948 and had 3 children: Gary, Cheryl and Sandy. Roberta and Junior had 19 wonderful years prior to Junior’s passing on January 29, 1967.
Roberta was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children on the farm. She loved spending quality time with family and friends. Some of her favorite memories were of taking the grandkids fishing and teaching them to put the worm on the hook.
She worked for the Albia High School cafeteria, Monroe County Treasurer’s office, University of Iowa and finished her career as a Property Manager for DEBCO Properties in Springfield, MO. After retiring, Roberta pursued oil painting classes and enjoyed painting landscape sceneries.
Roberta is survived by two daughters: Cheryl Hartje of Midlothian, VA and Sandy Kosman of Republic, MO.
One nephew: Ed Gutcher and one niece, Debbie Stephan. Her grandchildren: Cary (Danette) Kosman, Josh Gutcher, Miranda Kosman and Roger Stewart. Her great grandchildren: Cody and Kayle Kosman, Hayden Gutcher, Cadin Thomason, Michael, Avery & Etta Waybill, Kody and Koltan Kjolstad.
Roberta is proceeded in death by her husband: Junior (Fernal), her son: Gary, her parents: Dave and Minnie, two sisters: Betty and Wilma, a grandson: Chris, a granddaughter: Sarah and a niece: Linda.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
