Obituary for Naomi Ruth Hayes

Naomi Ruth  Hayes
Naomi Ruth Hayes, 73, of Springfield, passed away on October 31, 2017, as a result of Parkinson’s Disease. She was born to Sam and Pearl Cofer Smith on November 26, 1943, in Gladewater, Texas.
She met the love of her life, Bill Hayes, at Southwestern Bible College, and they had two sons, Timothy and Stephen. Together as a family, they traveled across the United States as Evangelists for the Assemblies of God. They also ministered in many countries, including the Bahamas, Peru, Africa, and Russia. In later life, she assisted her husband in teaching at Calvary Commission in Lindale Texas.

Naomi is survived by her husband, Bill Hayes, her sister Evelyn Buttram, brother Donald Smith, and sister and brother in law, Blanche and Keith Talkington. She is also survived by her son, Tim and wife Janis, son Stephen and wife Christine, grandchildren Elizabeth and Ben Braun, Jessica and Kamal Sajja, Madeline Hayes, Gabrielle Hayes, Jackson Hayes, Madison Hayes, Cadence Hayes, Aubrie Hayes, Brooklyn Hayes, and Samuel Hayes. She also leaves behind many loving friends, nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to her caregivers, Madeline Hayes, Selina Jennings, and Vinnie Wilson. The family would also like to give thanks and appreciation to Michelle Tyson and the staff at Compassus Hospice, and all of the staff at Maplewood Assisted Living.

Services for Naomi will be at 11:00 am Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East Springfield, Missouri with interment following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, November 3, 2017 in the funeral home.
