Marion Frances (Stivers) Thomas, age 97, of 1916 East Bennett in Springfield passed away Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at The Maples .
Marion was born September 18, 1920 in Evanston, IL to Harry and Sarah Stivers. She was a graduate of Highland Park High School. She was united in marriage to James William Thomas on September 25, 1938 in Highland Park, IL. Marion enjoyed ice skating and dancing.The most important thing in Marion's life was her family.
Survivors include three children, James Leslie Thomas, Collins, MO, Donald Lawrence Thomas and wife Dorothy, Grifton, N.C., and Peggy Ann Presley, Springfield; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Scott Thomas, Jody Sue Manka, Kimberly Jo Presley, Nicole Michelle Harden; seven great-grandchildren, Devin Jacob Miller, Brandon Scott Thomas, Morgan Marie Acord, Matthew Thomas Bohling, Michael Christopher Harden, Lucas Nathaniel Harden, Sonja Grace Harden; two great-great-grandchildren, Ivory Addison Acord and Isaiah Nash Acord; ones sister, Harriett Evans, Seabring, FL; and a host of family and friends. She was preceed in death by her loving husband of 59 years James William Thomas, her daughter, Sherry Lynn Thomas; her parents, Harry and Sarah Stivers
The family will receive friends from 6to 8 pm, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Springfield , Missouri .
