Obituary for Gary Edward Rademacher

Gary Edward  Rademacher
Gary Edward Rademacher, 63, of Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Gary was born on January 17, 1954, to Henry Ralph and Gloria Ann (Hellweg) Rademacher in Washington, MO. He graduated from Eureka High School in 1972 and from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1977. As a student, he was a Resident Assistant and participated in ROTC, Pershing Rifles, and Scabbard and Blade. While working as a teacher in the Springfield Public Schools and serving in the US Army Reserve, he completed a Master of Science in Education, Elementary and Middle School Administration/Principal (1980) and an Education Specialist in School Administration/Superintendent (1984). On November 23, 1985, he married Janna Hall in Springfield. As they raised their family, he completed a Doctor of Education, Educational Leadership and Administration from Vanderbilt University. In August of 2002, he retired from the US Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. His last duty was as Course Coordinator for the Command and Staff College.
Gary also participated in several capacities in the Missouri State Teachers Association, worked for many years in the Security Department of the Ozark Empire Fair, and volunteered with his son’s Boy Scout troop and in their church activities. During retirement Gary enjoyed reading, movies, his Christ Care group and volunteering at the East Sunshine Church of Christ Emergency Weather Shelter for Men.
Gary is survived by his sons, Jared Hall, wife Leanne, of Ozark, MO and Andrew Rademacher, of Kansas City, MO; one granddaughter, Ellie Rae Hall; his father Henry Rademacher of Pacific, MO; sisters, Gail Cull, of Eureka, MO; Holly Pilgram, husband Ben, of Labadie, MO; Becky Rademacher, of Nixa, MO; brothers, Ralph Rademacher, wife Bonnie, of Labadie, MO; and Tim Rademacher, wife Linda, of Eureka, MO and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church at 1:00 p.m. followed by services at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First & Calvary Presbyterian Church or East Sunshine Church of Christ Emergency Shelter for Men.
The family would like to thank Doctors Allen, Parvathaneni, and Singhal, as well as nurses Tom, Clayton, Mallory, Jacob and Liz, and all the other staff of the CVICU at Mercy Hospital for their compassion and support.
