Gary Leon Atkison
Gary Leon Atkison age 75 , of Springfield passed away Monday, July 10th, 2017 at Home, surrounded by his family .

Gary was born August 24, 1941 in Webster County, Missouri to James Leon and Lois Fern Atkison. He was a graduate of Marshfield High School. Gary served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Donna Malicoat on May 27, 1965, in Marshfield, Missouri. Gary retired from Roadway Trucking after 26 years, he was known by all his trucking buddies as Rover. Gary's family was a very talented musical family, they sang and played for many years at the Webster County Jamboree. Gary loved to fish on Table Rock Lake, where he always caught the big fish. The greatest love of his life was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years Donna Kay Atkison; two children, Steve Atkison and wife Carol, Springfield and Marcy Murphy and Andy Kootz , Strafford; six grandchildren, Jesse Stark, Garrett and Makayla Murphy, Leroy DuVall, and Lacee and Anna Kootz; one brother, Bob Atkison and wife Brenda, Marshfield; sister, Jan Hartman, Manhattan, Kansas; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A celebration of Gary's life will be held Thursday, July 13th, 2017 at 10:00 am in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
