Betty Christina "Cricket"  Graham (Hoodenpyle)
Betty Christina “Cricket” Graham, age 90, Brighton MO passed away July 8, 2017 surrounded by her family. Christina was born April 6, 1927 to Earl and Reva (Bradford) Hoodenpyle. Following her mother's passing when she was a baby, she was raised by her two maiden aunts Gola and Georgia Apperson on the family farm where she lived the rest of her life. She married Harlan Graham on June 28, 1946.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and their wives, James “Jim” and Aileen Hoodenpyle, Robert “Bob” and Betty Hoodenpyle and William “Bill” and Vickie Hoodenpyle, a half-brother David Hoodenpyle, a half-sister Peggy Griffin and her brother-in-law Billy Richard Graham.

She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Sherry and Ed Hagerman Bolivar, Reva and Paul McKnight, Brighton and Cindy and Randy Moore, Springfield. Four grandchildren, Christy and Richard Mitchell, Bolivar, Kim and Scott Buell, TN, Nathaniel and Bobbie McKnight, Brighton and Jennifer and Jonathan Creech, Bolivar and six great grandchildren, Clayton Mitchell, Grant and Ellie Buell, Quintin McKnight and McKinley and Madison Creech. Her sister-in-Law Helen Graham, Springfield and a large extended family.

Christina was saved as a young girl and a member of Slagle Missionary Baptist Church.

Christina was a homemaker, worked on the family farm and did clothing alterations for 50 years in Bolivar. She owned Cricket’s Alternations just off the square where she did alterations for Hackers and Hortons, as well as other local businesses and individuals. Family was very important to her, she showed her support by attending every event she was able to and being very present in lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the time she spent as a member of the Morrisville Lion’s Club, as well as spending time with her friends in the Bolivar community through her alteration work and later at the senior center. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Visitation services will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in Pitts Chapel Funeral Home in Bolivar. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10:00 am in Pitts Chapel Funeral Home Bolivar with Elder Paul McKnight and Elder Richard Mitchell officiating. Burial services in Slagle Cemetery will follow
