Obituary for Bobby Gene Bowling
Bobby Gene Bowling 83 of Battlefield, MO passed away on June 30, 2017 in his home.
He was born January 31, 1934 in Elsie, MO to Ernest and Irene White Bowling. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force and while stationed in England he met and later married Gwendoline May (Harris) on March 24, 1956. He worked at DayCo until his retirement after 27 years of service. He was member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his mother Irene White Bowling, his parents Ernest and Gladys Bowling, his wife Gwen of 33 years of marriage and 2 sisters: Ilene Edwards and Maxine Hale. He is also survived by: 6 sisters and 2 brothers, 2 children: Tim Bowling (Jan) and Karen Bowling, 2 grandchildren: Kenneth Bowling (Audra) and Jessica Bowling and 3 great-grandchildren: Arya, Heath, and Ethan Bowling. He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews and a special cousin Joe Foster. Bobby loved fishing and crafted fishing gigs and was known as “the gig man”.
Bobby will be missed deeply. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 in the funeral home and interment will follow in Manley Cemetery in Battlefield, MO.
