Obituary for Ray Keith Forrester

Ray Keith Forrester
Ray Keith Forrester, 66, Springfield, MO passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in his home, after a battle with cancer. Born in Springfield, MO on August 24, 1950, to Raymond K and Marjorie (Althouse) Forrester. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, but most of all a man of God. He found great joy in his family, choosing to spend time with them at dinners, kids’ sporting events, birthday parties and anywhere else the kids and grandchildren were. He loved to travel, particularly when he could take his family along. Many memories were made on trips to Walt Disney World, road trips out west, Hawaii, California, Colorado, Destin, FL and many other destinations he loved.

Ray trusted Christ as his savior on June 6, 1958 at Vacation Bible School at Bellview
Baptist Church. He loved Berean Baptist Church and was a member there for over 45
years, singing specials, in the choir, teaching Sunday school and serving as a deacon. He raised his family in church and was there whenever the doors were open. During testimony services he would often say the things he was most thankful for were his salvation, his wife and the fact that his kids were in church, serving God and raising his grandkids to serve the Lord.

He was a talented Chemical Engineer, receiving a degree from University Missouri-Rolla, then working for Syntex and McLaren Hart engineering firms before starting his own environmental consulting practice, The Forrester Group, in 1994. He sold The Forrester Group in May of 2009 to Foth Infrastructure, where he continued to work until his death. He was a recognized authority in environmental remediation, becoming well known for his excellent litigation support and expert testimony. He was also a skilled and highly valued coach and mentor to those he worked with.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Rachel, three
children: Ben Forrester and his wife Sarah, Thad Forrester and his wife Megan, Leah
Allison and her husband Chris, and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Berean Baptist Church.Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Berean Baptist Church.
