Mr. Jim Gillispie, age 78 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Parkview Healthcare Facility Bolivar, MO. He was born November 12, 1938, in Blairstown, MO, to William George and Sylvia Alice (Anglin) Gillispie. He is a US Army veteran. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Joanne (Kellogg) Pace December 22, 1973. He is member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church, and Gideon’s International since 1995.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Lawrence, George, and Charles Gillispie; two sisters: Zelda Stevens, and Viola Gillispie; and one step granddaughter Johnna Staab.
Jim is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home; a grandson William “Bill” Gillispie of the home; one son Richard Gillispie and wife Candy of Fair Play, MO; three daughters: Alicia Gillispie, Norma Harter, and Juanita Williams and husband Don all of Vancouver, WA; one step-daughter Sandra Staab and husband Michael of The Colony, TX; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Gillispie and his wife Helen of Flemington, MO, and Earl Gillispie and his wife Cindy of Prescott, KS; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Southern Hills Baptist Church. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
