Obituary for Donald Elvin Norman

Donald Elvin  Norman
Donald (Don) Elvin Norman, 85, passed to glory Tuesday May 16th, 2017 at Cox South Hospital following several days of health complications. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Clara Norman, and his children Cindy, Tim, Todd, Tracy, and Aimee. Along with their spouses Sherry, Cherie, and Luke, and his grandchildren Alex, Tyler, Rachel, Traeton, and Cooper. Don was born in Springdale, Arkansas to Joseph and Maria Norman. He moved to Springfield early in life to live with his grandmother Mary Elizabeth Norman. He served in the Air Force as a mechanic from 1951-1955. Afterward, he dedicated his life to his job as a linesman at Kraft, where he met his future wife in the cafeteria. Being an engineer at heart, Don's life-long passion has always been wood-working and tinkering. Don inspired all those around him to build new things, look at things in new ways, and be a better people. Visitation is from 3-5 Sunday May 21st at Greenlawn North Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 12:30 Monday the 22nd at the same location. He will be buried at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
