Obituary for Andrew Wood Ellis

Andrew Wood Ellis
Andrew Wood Ellis was born to Gene T. and Nan Judith Wood Ellis on February 10, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away on April 16, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri after a short illness.
Andy grew up in Springfield. He met Sonja Lee in 1985. She was his greatest source of support and the love of his life. She stood by him through good times and bad for 31 years. They had a son, Evan, in 1999 who was Andy's pride and joy. Evan will carry the Ellis lineage with his father's quick wit, kind heart and love of all things sports.
Andy's death leaves an empty space in our family, but we know with certainty that he is resting in the light and love of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Ellis, and father-in-law, Dwight Lee. He is survived by his wife, Sonja; son, Evan Andrew; mother, Judy Ellis; sister, Amy Deal (Randy); mother-in-law, Glenda Adams; brother-in-laws Glen Lee (Robin) and Tony Lee; nephew Mychael Lee; and nieces Grace and Addy Lee. He has a host of family and friends who love him more than he will ever know.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21st from 6:00-8:00 pm at Greenlawn East in Springfield. A private family burial will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at the Crane Community Cemetery in Crane, Missouri. A celebration of Andy's life will take place on Saturday April 22nd at 6:00 pm at Coyotes in Springfield. We look forward to friends and family coming together with stories and photos.
