Rebecca Susan Quinn, 62, of Strafford, Missouri, passed away in Strafford Care Center on July 18, 2013. Becky was born October 30, 1950, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Lela Nadine Potter Quinn and James Porter Quinn who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Mary E. Quinn of Strafford; brother, James David Quinn and wife Connie of Springfield; friend and caregiver Sharon Terry of Strafford. She also is survived by aunts Jean Shock Quinn and Dora Quinn Arney Meikle, and an Uncle Robert C. Quinn and wife Phoebe. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Becky graduated from Greenwood Laboratory School. She then graduated from Southwest Missouri State University. She earned her Master’s Degree in Public Health at the University of Missouri. The majority of her work years were spent as the co-owner of The Oven Door, working in Continuing Education at SMSU, and working for the City of Springfield and the Missouri Career Center. Becky enjoyed gardening and canning. At age 9 she began to show cows and entered exhibits at the Ozark Empire Fair and continued to do so for the next 50 years. She was an avid Lady Bears fan and was a charter member of the Lady Bears Fast Break Club. She was also a great lover of animals, especially her cats. Visitation will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Saturday, July 20, 4-6 p.m. At Becky’s request, there will be no service. She requested to be cremated and have her ashes scattered at her beloved home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. The family wants to thank the staff of Strafford Care Center for their loving care given to Becky during her short stay there.
