Obituary for Amil Eugene Ulrich

Amil Eugene Ulrich of Ash Grove, MO,was born the son of Louis and Chloe Brown Ulrich on September 16, 1928 in North Olmsted, Ohio and went to rest in the arms of Jesus on June 8, 2014 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO at age 85.

He served in the Coast Guard Merchant Marines and the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge on December 27, 1948.

Mr. Ulrich was united in marriage on February 24, 1951 to Audrey Turvey. Their union was blessed with 11 children. He was retired from his work in building and grounds maintenance and administration. He enjoyed genealogical research, Bible study, reading, and fishing.

Mr. Ulrich is survived by his wife Audrey, of Watertown Wisconsin; his children Elizabeth Wessel (Sherwood) of St. James, MN; Mary-Anne Schwartz (James Sr.) of Watertown, WI; Matthew Ulrich (Donna) of Blue Earth, MN; Naomi Larsen (Jonathan) of Jefferson City, TN; Martin Ulrich of Rochester MN; Titus Ulrich of Provincetown, MA; Paul Ulrich (Alison) of Hobbs, NM; Sarah Bischoff of Lake Mills, WI; Esther Rath (Brian) of Cedar Falls, IA; Ethan Ulrich (Stephanie) of Springfield, MO; his sister Doris Dreyer of Cherokee Village, AR.;
29 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ulrich was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Chloe Ulrich; his siblings Betty Wellnitz, Alvin Ulrich, Lillian Shoultz, Lucille Sawyer, Dorothy Williams, Roy Williams, Claude Williams, Marie Lepper; his son, Job Ernest; and his grandson, Paul Larsen.

Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East in Springfield, MO. Officiating is Pastor Arnold List. Honorary Pallbearers are Mr. Ulrich’s nephews, Dale Wellnitz, Robert Dreyer, and Kenneth Dreyer. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Internment will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
