Obituary for Jean Zalinsky

Jean Zalinsky passed away August 29, 2016. She was born February 11, 1928 in Kansas City.Jean worked for Southwestern Bell in Kansas City and was an Avon lady for the last 36 years of her life. She volunteered for Mercy and the American Cancer Society office located at the C. H. “Chub” O’Reilly Cancer Center. She was active in her church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
Jean is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marty Zalinsky. She is survived by daughter Connie Rizzo and her husband, Ken from Springfield, MO, daughter Brenda Schlatweiler and her husband, Bill from St. Peters, MO, grandchildren, Amy Rizzo, Shane Rizzo and Kim Schlatweiler, and great-granddaughter, Sophie Rizzo.Jean had a fun-loving spirit and loved to dance, as evident by her nickname “Jean the Dancing Machine”. She lived a full, meaningful life and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, MO on Thursday, September 1. Rosary services will be from 6:00-6:30 pm with visitation from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Friday, September 2 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2200 W. Republic Rd, Springfield, MO with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
