Obituary for Catherine (Cathy) Jeannine Nichols (Horn)

Catherine (Cathy) Nichols (Horn), 66, passed away on June 1, 2019. She was born on October 1, 1952, in Monett, MO.

A loving mother, Cathy, was a homemaker while her children were in elementary school in Springdale, AR. She spent her days volunteering at the schools, being a Girl Scout leader and being the ‘Microwave Queen’. She enjoyed knitting, crafting, and most of all Christmas. She loved all things snowman and cardinals. Every winter she hoped that she would get to see feet of snow pile up outside, she even talked about moving north to make this dream happen.

Cathy started working for the Girl Scouts and moved her way up to be the Product Sales Coordinator for the Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. She had a passion for Girl Scouts and making it a program that girls would love to be a part of. She would retire years later and move to Springfield, Missouri. She also had a passion for music. She was in choir, band and played the piano. She also played the organ for Friday Baptist Church in Monett, MO.

Cathy is predeceased by her father and mother, Gene and Freda Horn. As well as her sister, Daralynn Horn. She is survived by her children, Kim Nichols of Springfield, MO and Garret Nichols of Springdale, AR. As well as her grand-dogs, Buffy, Sookie, Roxy, Willow, and River.

A visitation celebrating her life will be held at Greenlawn South on Friday, June 7, 2019, from 6pm-8pm. Afterwards, we will be getting food and drinks at The Roost on Sunshine.
