Obituary for William John Bartley

William “Bill” John Bartley, 72 passed 12/5/18 at his home in Springfield, MO. Bill and Elizabeth “Betty” Tutschulte were married on Oct 1, 1966 in St. Louis, MO. They loved each other completely for 52 wonderful years. Bill was a proud Navy veteran, trusted friend, coach, and handyman to all. His grandchildren were a central focus in his life and he could often be found coaching their teams, taking them fishing, or coaching them from the rail at horse shows or in the bleachers at sporting events. There wasn’t an electrical or mechanical home repair Bill couldn’t fix, or be available by phone to lend his experience and advice. Bill was also a skilled horseman who bred, trained, and owned Morgan Horses and passed the love of the breed on to his family. Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, Glen and Kathleen Bartley; and sister, Jo-Ann Bartley. He is survived by his wife Betty; his father-in-law and fishing buddy Bernard Duchinsky; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Joe Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Patti Bartley; siblings Glenn Bartley, Bonnie Exner, Betty Ringrose, Brian Bartley, Kathleen Hayes, and Maryann Blevins; his beloved grandchildren, Bailey Bartley, Peyton Bartley, Justin Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Hailey Johnson, and Barrett Bartley and numerous nieces and nephews. He made a lasting impact in the lives of all who knew him and will be forever missed. A visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2-4pm. Funeral services will be held at Northside Christian Church on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10:30am.
