Doris was born on November 11, 1928 in Hollywood, California the daughter of Gotfred and Katie Fries Jacobsen. She retired as a planner for a cardboard manufactory company. She had been a resident of the Lead Hill, Arkansas area since 1991.
Survivors are her husband: Walter Lee Erspamer of the home in Lead Hill. Five children: Donald Andrew Shapley of Kentucky, Jenny Gail Klaudt of California, Jodie Ellen Isenhouer of California, Delavan Alan Shapley of California and Robert Dennis Shapley, Jr of California, one brother, Alvin Gotfred Jacobsen of Washington and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
