Kenneth Dean Orrell, 78, of Bolivar, passed away Thursday November 1, 2018, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, after a long illness.
Kenneth was born on December 19, 1939 to William Lee and Amanda Elizabeth Orrell in Polk County. His paternal grandparents were Harvey and Mary Orrell and maternal grandparents were Fred and Lizzie Robertson.
He attended Bolivar High School where he played football for the Bolivar Tigers. In 1957 his mother passed away and he joined the Army. He served for 11 years as a mechanic and driver until his honorable discharge due to a disability.
He was saved at an early age and became a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Bolivar.
On December 19, 1977 he married Treva Mae Kates. To this union 2 children were born, Amanda Orrell and Walter Kenneth Orrell, both of Bolivar. He has 2 stepdaughters, Carlean and Elizabeth Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; 3 sisters - Ruth Ellen, Velma (PeeWee), and Delma; and 4 brothers - Lloyd, Delmar, Ralph and Dwight.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Treva of the home; his children; 7 grandchildren, Doug and his wife Katie, Corey, Shelby, Joel, Davey, Emily, and Caleb; 2 great grandchildren Logan and Olivia; 2 sisters Norma and Vonda; and 1 brother Charles; and host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Pitts Funeral Home at 10 am, Thursday, November 8, with Pastors Doyle Mayfield and Dallas Stockdale officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church following. Pallbearers are Charles Orrell, Paul Gilmore, Russ Orrell, Lee Kates, Caleb Rains, and Corey Sarnstrom. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Roberts, Billy Gilmore, Johnny Choate, Marty Orrell, and Rick Hejna. Family and friends may sign a guest book and leave private condolences at greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
