Obituary for Thomas Gary Butler

Thomas Gary  Butler
Thomas “Gary” Butler, 64, of Marshfield, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 12th at Cox South Hospital. Grave Side services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday July 20th at The Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood, Springfield, MO 65804. A Celebration of life will be held in the near future at his home in Marshfield, the date has not been decided.

Gary was born June 8th 1954 to Thomas Wesley and Viloria (Smith) Butler in Lawrence Kansas. He graduated Central Highschool in 1972 after Highschool he moved on to join the United States Marine Core and was enlisted for 6 years in Quantico Virginia. He retired with Greene CO, serving as Law enforcement officer for 25 years and Chief of Police in Fair Grove Missouri, for three years. He enjoyed working, watching his deer from his new dream home, playing on his Guitar and other instruments, writing songs, singing, Bluegrass, fishing, hunting, gambling, watching and reading westerns, and spending time with his wife children and grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife Christy Lynn Butler, his son Joshua Kane Butler and wife Beth Ann Butler. Daughter Taylor Nicole Peterson. Two step children, Lindsay Peterson, Lauren Adcock and husband Wes Adcock. Grandchildren, Kaitlynn Deonnie Blattel, Mattison Rose Butler and Brayden Wesley Butler. Step Grandchildren, Payden Adcock, Luke Adcock, and Remi Adcock. Mother, Viloria Butler. Sister, Wilma Jean Kraft and Husband Thomas Kraft. Nephews, David Wesley Allen and Charles Patrick Butler. He was preceded in death by his Father Thomas Wesley Butler. He will be greatly missed by all.
