Obituary for Terry Wayne Price

Terry Wayne Price
Terry Wayne Price, 85 years old, went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2018, where he was reunited with his son, George Wayne, and daughter, Donna Kay. Terry was born June 3, 1933 in Strafford, MO to George Price and Lula (Simmons) Price. He grew up with a house full of brothers: Kenneth, Charlie, David, and Paul.

He married his loving wife, Geneva Geraldine Rowden on August 6, 1952. After 65 years, he still proudly carried in his wallet their Wedding Announcement along with his favorite picture of the two of them, showing them off any chance he got. They had 5 children, George Wayne, Gary Dean, Donna Kay, Joyce Lynn, and Terry Eugene. They were blessed with 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild… and many, many others that they have treated as their own.

In 1957, Terry joined the Laborer’s International Union of North America, Local 676. He had just recently been recognized for belonging to the organization for 60+ years in an Union Newsletter. Which he also showed off proudly.

Terry had his own signature style, it was rare to find him in anything, but his overalls, a navy blue button up shirt, a pair of boots, his favorite hat at the time, and lip full of Red Man. He enjoyed listening to his good ol’ country music and gospel hymns especially if it was his wife singing. He liked watching his Westerns and WWE Wrestling. Terry loved the outdoors and going fishing and hunting with his sons. He enjoyed doing yard work and keeping his Ford truck spotless. He was always willing to lend a hand to help fix something or just give directions. In his later years, you would catch him on the back porch, whittling wood, visiting with family and neighbors, “resting his eyes” or talking to their dog, Pebbles.

Terry never knew a stranger, so between his family and countless others he has befriended along the way, he will truly be missed.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 12pm. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow that, in Liberty Cemetery.
