Obituary for June Blunt

June Blunt
June Blunt, 91, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 in the presence of her family.
She was born June 26, 1927 in Thayer, Missouri; the daughter of the late Alonzo and Bessie McClure. She accepted Christ as her savior at the Boulevard Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri.
As a teenager, June worked downtown at Woolworth’s with her dear friend and soon to be sister-in-law “Dote.”
June and Winton Olin were united in marriage on October 25, 1946. To this union two son’s were born, Stephen Dale and Daniel Jefferson.
Winton was a Missouri State Highway Patrolman, the family relocated frequently due to his occupation. They resided in Springfield, Osceola, Hermitage, Bolivar, Branson and finally retired to Springfield.
After Winton passed, June lived at The Montclair, The Fremont, Castlewood and Glendale Gardens.
June had many hobbies; she loved caring for her roses, she made the most beautiful stained glass, knitted, crocheted and was an avid reader.
June was preceded in death by her husband Winton, her son Stephen, one brother Herbert McClure and her sister Louise Reeves.
She is survived by her son Daniel Blunt and wife Patricia; one brother Howard McClure and wife Petra; three granddaughters, Stephanie Rhodes and husband Shawn, Jennifer Blunt, Mary Welch and husband Glenn; one great-grandson Logan Welch; her yellow tabby cat Randy and an innumerable number of family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00~8:00 PM Monday, July 16, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with Sam Kaunley officiating.
Interment will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri.
