Obituary for Kimberly Michele Patterson

Kimberly ‘Kim’ Michele Patterson was born July 24, 1962 to Charles and Marilyn Patterson in Springfield,MO. Kim graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1980 and shortly after was blessed with the birth of her son, Shawn Alan, in June 1983.

Kim had a passion for cooking and gardening, which many had the pleasure of enjoying the fruits of her labor. Kim also had a huge heart for animals for all her life. There was never a dog or cat she would let pass by without showering love and affection on first, and knowing them on a first name basis. Another passion of Kim’s was sports, specifically Cardinals baseball and basketball. But none so much than watching her son Shawn play throughout his childhood, all the way thru school and even watching him go on to coach his own teams.

Another blessing in Kim’s life came when Shawn married and she became a grandmother to three beautiful grandchildren. From day one, she loved them just like they were her own, because in her heart, they very much were and they meant everything to her. Kim so much enjoyed going to watch their games, school events, birthday parties, or even just a day of shopping and ending it with dinner at Cheddars with ribs and broccoli rice casserole (her favorite).

Kim never met a stranger, she was a friend to everyone to met. To say she will be missed is an immeasurable understatement. Kim wasn’t just a daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend… But she was our daughter, mother, grandmother and friend ; and there is not a more precious gift in life we could have ever been blessed with.

Kim is survived in death by her parents Charles Patterson and Marilyn Patterson. Her son Shawn and his wife Stacy, grandchildren Keelie, Braxton and Brooklynn. Her Aunts Carol June, Betty, and Edwina; Cousins Mike, Chuck, Eddie, Jamie, Johnny and Debbie. And many more loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kimberly’s honor to a college fund for her three grandchildren.
