Obituary for Ruth Elaine Talbert (Johnston)

Ruth Elaine  Talbert (Johnston)
Ruth Elaine Talbert passed away on June 1, 2018 at Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab in Hollister, Missouri at the age of 91 years.

She was born on April 18, 1927 to Curtis and Blanche Hiatte Johnson near Birmingham, Iowa.

Ruth was the WWII bride of L. E. Talbert. They moved to Branson in March of 1962 and established Talbert Brake and Wheel which was in business for over 40 years.

“Miss Ruth” was a longtime member of the Branson United Methodist Church, was active in Waymakers, United Methodist Women’s Groups and served on various committees. She worked weekly for many years at the Thrift Shop and also served the church organizing and serving bereavement dinners and special celebrations. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Branson-Hollister Lions Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Wayne Johnston and a sister, Berniece Stonebraker and her husband L.E. Talbert in 1993. Her sons, Larry Dale Talbert in 1950 and Jim Talbert in 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Reynerson (Jeff) of Springdale, Arkansas, a son, Chris Talbert of Prairie Village, Kansas, a daughter-in-law, Edwina Talbert. Grandchildren, Tiffany Corbet (Brian), Becky Foster (Steve), Jennifer Pyck (Brian), Tod Grisham (Pam), Kim Beard (Wendell), Neal Reynerson, Russ Reynerson (Hannah) and eight great grandchildren. Others who will miss Ruth include her extended family and many church friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson with visitation at 10:00 AM prior to service time. Burial will be at a later date in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery.
