Opal  Kolar
Opal Kolar was born on January 26, 1930 near Rogersville, Missouri. She died on May 25, 2018. Her parents were Leon and Otie Smith.
Her passion was teaching children. She taught fifth grade for 27 years, she also loved traveling around the world. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law Julie Smith.
She leaves her husband Marion, to whom she had been married 70 years. Their children are Deborah Lynn Lassley and Valorie Jean Farmer (Stan), grandchildren Elizabeth Jean Chapman (Jason), Jessica Grace (Russell), Addy McCord and Lyndsey Wingo (Sean). Six great grandchildren, Ethan, Maggie and Nora Grace, Jillian Malachowski and Jack and Finn Kolar Wingo. A brother Truman Smith, sister Maxine Ghan (Bill) and several nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank her doctors and Haven Hospice. At her request, she was cremated and had a private burial at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield.
