Obituary for Dorothy Juanita Overturf (Martin)
Dorothy “Granny Dot” Overturf, age 93 of Bolivar, MO, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Citizens Memorial Hospital Bolivar, MO. She was born December 25, 1924, in Chattanooga, TN, to Jerry and Mary L. (Matthews) Martin. She was a member of the women’s auxiliary of the American Legion.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Overturf; a daughter Frances Padilla; a brother Harold Martin; and a sister Betty Selbe.
She is survived by two children: Wanda Beckler of Bolivar, MO, and Norm Coffey of Ft. Myers, FL; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren; a sister Carol Sue Hughes of Chattanooga, TN; as well as many other relatives and friends.
According to Dorothy’s wishes her body will be cremated and laid to rest at the Chattanooga Memorial Park Chattanooga, TN, at a later date. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
