Obituary for Joyce Matthews (Matthews)
Naoma Joyce “Joyce” Matthews, age 75 of Ash Grove, MO passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Cox South hospital with family by her side. Joyce was born on April 21, 1943 in the Willard/Ash Grove rural area to Asa Albert and Eunice Ruth Matthews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Troy Leonard, Carl Leslie and Kenneth Wayne.
She is survived by her brother Donald Eugene and his wife Doris of Morrisville, MO; sister-in-law and dear friend Joan Keck of Everton; 11 nieces, 3 nephews, numerous great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many, many friends. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents at the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility for their great care, compassion and friendship to Joyce in her time there.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:00am at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 N. National, Springfield, MO.
According to Joyce’s wishes her body will be cremated and laid to rest near other family members at Rose Hill Cemetery, Willard, MO at a later date. Joyce continued her generous ways in her passing, as a tissue and cornea donor.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility auxiliary.
