Obituary for Darlene Ruth Baugher

Darlene Ruth  Baugher
Darlene R. Baugher, 65, Ozark, MO passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.. She was born on July 1, 1952 in Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio. She attended Columbian High School, Bowling Green University and received her Master’s Degree from SMSU. Darlene was an Area Director for Missouri State Schools for the Severely Disabled for 37+ years. She had started her career with them on August 1, 1980 and planned to retire this year on July 1, 2018. She was very passionate about her career and loved who she worked with, especially the children in the schools. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Darl W. and Margaret E. (Dible) Baugher. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Linda S. (Bruce) Mitchell of Knoxville, TN and her very close nieces, or as she called them her “sweetie pie”: Rebecca (Nathan) Shore of Denver, CO and Sweetie Pooh Amanda Mitchell of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by her significant other, T.J. Hamilton and his sons: Derik and Tyler Hamilton and numerous relatives and friends. Darlene was deeply spiritual and her family found among her writings that she had inspirationally penned “Death is not the enemy, it’s the destination to glory.” She loved reading and traveling especially to the Rocky Mountains and sandy, sunny beaches. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Greenlawn Funeral Home South at 2:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial donations be made to: the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation: 383 Main Ave. 5th floor-Norwalk, CT 06851 or Special Olympics Missouri: 1001 Diamond Ridge, Suite 800- Jefferson City, MO 65109 or their charity of choice. Darlene was a truly compassionate and loving sister, aunt and kind woman. She will be deeply missed.
