Betty Lavon Fraley, age 88, of Springfield, passed away on May 3, 2018. She was born on June 20, 1929 in Joplin Missouri to Thomas Ivan Hosp Sr. and Goldie Marie (Stiles) Hosp. Betty attended Joplin Senior High School, graduating in 1947. She co-owned HTD Battery Sales with her husband David, retiring in 2001. Betty and David were married in Joplin in 1947 and were married for over 70 years. She was a Charter Member of South Haven Baptist Church. Her hobbies included, reading, gardening and playing with the grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Barbara Jean Hosp, JoAnn Trigg and Peggy Greninger, brothers, Thomas Ivan Hosp Jr. and Kenneth Victor Hosp. She is survived by her husband, David M. Fraley, her children and spouses, Sheryl Garrison, Vicki (Adil) Na’ayem, David Mitchell (Deb) Fraley and Larry Fraley, 5 grandchildren, Tony Na’ayem, Amber Price, Ashley Wilson, Derek Fraley and Bethany Seiser, 3 great-grandchildren, Arden Fraley, Spencer Fraley and Mackenzie Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. The committal service will be private, family only please. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations be made to The David and Betty Fraley Scholarship at Missouri State University Foundation, 300 S. Jefferson, Springfield, MO 65806 Attn. Karl Schmidt.
