Marjorie Maxine (Margie) Regier ended 96 years of love, laughter, and hard work on April 24, 2018. She was born in Billings, Missouri on March 26, 1922 to Robert and Louise Sammons, and graduated from Republic High School in 1940. She was a department head with the Campbell 66 truck line during WW II, a job previously reserved for men, and married Henry Regier on June 13, 1944, two weeks before he departed for Europe as a member of the United States Army.
Margie was a stay at home mom while her children were young, working as a March of Dimes volunteer when the polio epidemic threatened her children, and later volunteering as a Cub Scout den mother. She then worked in customer service for several small Springfield-based insurance companies until her retirement at age 62 and returned to work as a commissioned sales representative when she was widowed at age 65. She retired again in her early 80s, to enjoy life with her family, books, and garden.
Margie is survived by her son, Carl Henry Regier and his wife Kathy, Springfield; her son, Gail Travis Regier, Parkersburg, WV; her grandson, Edward Regier, Lebanon; her grandson, Kevin Regier, Fayetteville, AR; her granddaughter, Allison Regier, Springfield; and her daughter-in-law, Maria Regier, Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Regier, her daughter, Sandra Arlene Regier, her son, Gary Louis Regier, her son, Robert Alan Regier, her grandson, John Robert Regier, and her sisters, Evelyn Hope Sammons, Mildred L. Tindle, and Norma Lee McConnell.
