Obituary for Helen R. Locke (Groves)
Helen Rosetta Locke 92, Springfield, MO. passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, at Willard Care Center, after a long illness. She was born in Springfield, MO. on November 29, 1925, to Cecil and Lettie Mae (Barton) Groves. A homemaker, Helen was a member of the Hamlin Memorial Baptist Church. She was a member of TOPS and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Vicky Brown and grandchild Larry Locke Jr. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Olin Dayle Locke, a daughter: Brenda Spracklen, two sons; Mark Locke and his wife Yuko, and Larry Locke; five grandchildren: Debbie Hogan, John Spracklen, Scott Locke, Kevin and Kristy Brown, six great-grandchildren; Jeff and Justin Barnett, Robert Spracklen, Jenee Payne-Brown, and Alonzo and Nicholas Locke, and three great-great-grandchildren; Kayden, Kyla, and Ryker Barnett.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
