Obituary for Michael Orin Hubbard

Michael Orin Hubbard, 71 yrs, of Sparta, MO, formally St. Joseph, MO departed this life on April 14, 2018. Mike was born to Orin and Lois (Webb) Hubbard in Faucett, MO. He was employed at Meads in St. Joseph for years, then owned the Poor Mans Inn in Amazonia, MO before moving to Branson, MO in 1991. He met the love of his life, Deborah Tolbert, when she interviewed him and hired him at Dunn Woodcrafters in Blue Eye, MO. They were married on April 18, 1992 at the Keystone Baptist Church in Reeds Spring, MO. They continued working together from that day forward. They owned their own woodcraft business, Old Mother Hubbards Cupboard for years. They then moved to Axtell, KS where they both were employed at N.V.K. In Seneca, KS. Mike was a driver for the transport department and Deborah was a vet tech for the brokerage. In 2002 they moved to Sparta, MO and started their own transportation and brokerage companies, T.H.E. Transport Co, and Mike's Brokerage and GramsPuppies. Besides working Mike loved to hunt and fish.

He was well known for his quick wit and humor and jokes.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jill Livingood. Survivors include: Deborah of 26 yrs. Granddaughter Billee Orin Tolbert of Sparta, MO, one brother Tom Cutter and wife Donna of Folkston, GA, one daughter, Jana Johnson and husband, James, of Taneyville, MO, two sons, Chris Hubbard and wife, Becky, of Kirbyville, MO, Chad Hubbard, of Branson, MO, three step-sons, Sean Tolbert and wife, Samantha, of Springfield, MO, Rodney Clark and wife Margie, of Elwood, KS, Curtis Clark, St. Joseph, MO, two step-daughters, Tina Losson and husband Rodger, of Elwood, KS, Gina Keiser of St. Jospeh, MO, Aunt Pat Shepherd of St. Joseph, MO, 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren plus a host of family and friends. There are no funeral plans, instead there will be a Celebration of Life gathering Friday April 20, 2018 from 5-10 pm, dinner served at 7pm at the Lions Club, 138 Hwy EE, Blue Eye, MO 65611. All are welcome to come and share your memories of Michael Orin Hubbard.
