Obituary for Donald Andrew Prather (Prather) Jr.

Donald Andrew “Andy” Prather Jr. Andy the son of Don and Betty Prather was born on Nov. 12, 1956 in St. Louis, MO and moved to Springfield, MO in 1963, and departed this life on Monday, April 9, 2018 in his home and was a shock to all, but was a blessing that he died in his sleep of a heart attack.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Andrew Prather Sr. and his brother, Mike Prather. Andy is survived by his mother, Betty Prather, his brother, Kevin and his wife Melissa and nephews and niece, Ryan and his family and Aaron and Hannah, his uncle Clarence and family and many special cousins and friends and his dog, Molly, along with his special friend June he called his mother-in-law, they went to auctions, horse races and fished together.
He grew up at Grace United Methodist Church, was an acolyte and played softball for many years. He helped at the church when needed. He loved to go fishing and he played softball until he was 50. He loved the country life. He loved his dogs, the last 2 he had was name Ashley and Molly. Ashley passed away at 19 years of age, and Molly still went everywhere Andy went, they are Australian Shepherd’s.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:30 am in Grace United Methodist Church, with a Celebration of Life service following the visitation at 11:30 am in the church at 600 S. Jefferson Ave. Springfield, MO. The burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South.
