Obituary for Wendell E. Daniel

Wendell E.  Daniel
Wendell E. Daniel, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed into the arms of Jesus on April 8, 2018 at The Baptist Home in Ozark, MO
Wendell was born on February 13, 1932 near Urich, MO to Idus and Gladys Daniel. He was the youngest of their three sons. Wendell graduated from Holden High School where he held many student leadership positions and participated in sports.
On May 21, 1950 he married his longtime sweetheart, Donna Lois Hammontree, who he had met at age 12. He accepted Jesus as his personal Savior shortly after they married. He and Donna have two children, David and Marilyn, and Chris Nisbeth lived with them for two and a half years.
Wendell began working for an International Harvester dealer in high school and over the years worked his way up through the company to management at the district and regional levels. Wendell retired in 1987 and he and Donna moved to Shell Knob, MO where he built their home on Table Rock Lake. He enjoyed flying, boating, camping, fishing and church activities and most of all, time with his friends and family. In 2014, due to health concerns, they moved to The Baptist home campus where they have been lovingly cared for by staff and neighbors.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Donna, of almost 68 years, his son, David and wife, Jane, of Kansas City, MO, his daughter Marilyn and husband Robert, of Battlefield, MO, his granddaughter, Ashleigh Kalwat of Ozark, MO and his grandson Brian and his wife, Danielle of Clemson, SC.
Services will be at 11:00 am Thursday April 12, 2018 at The Baptist Home Goodwin Center 1645 W. Garton Road, Ozark, MO. Visitation will be at 5:00 to 6:30 Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at The Baptist Home and Thursday 10:00 to 11:00 am April 12, 2018 prior to the service.
