Obituary for Helen May Dean (Keithley)
Helen May Keithley Dean of Springfield, Missouri died Wednesday, April 4. She was born 93 years ago in Halltown, Missouri to R Claude Keithley and Elva Ellen Keith Keithley. On May 27, 1943, she married William David Dean. He preceded her in death in 2015, after 72 years of marriage. They were parents to Carol (Daryl) Kennedy, Robert Dean, Janice Dean Witherwax, and Brenda Dean Anderson.
Besides filling her roles admirably as devoted “Daughter, Wife, and Mother”, she was:
- “Grandma" to Charla (Murray) Papendorf, Juanita (Abraham) Keller, Willie Dean, Sylvia Willingham, Debbie Dean, Jamie Dean, Janel Witherwax, Julie (Vincent) Barr, Joseph Witherwax, Sarah Dunlap and William Dunlap.
- “Great Grandma” to Elliot Papendorf, Emerson Papendorf, Michael Dean, Samantha Dean, Danica Winningham, Issaac Winningham, Scotty Dean, Rose Marie Dean, Dakota Witherwax and Zoey Dunlap.
- “Friend in Faith" to too many to name…
The funeral service will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 North National, Springfield, on Saturday, April 7. Visitation begins at 3 pm and service at 4 pm. Internment immediately follows adjacent to funeral home.
