Obituary for L. Jay Rippee

LaVaughn Jay Rippee passed from this life to his heavenly home on March 29, 2018 at the age of 88. He was united in marriage to Mildred Wright on September 28, 1955. They were blessed with four children, Mary Ann Gann, Donna Boucher (& Mark), Randy J. Rippee (& Rita), Betty Lou Burks (& Steve); loved by 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by one brother, Rex Rippee; and one sister, June Booth. “Jay” served his country in the Korean War as a marine. He was a deacon in the Baptist church for 44 years. He loved his time outdoors, hunting and fishing, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He will be deeply missed!
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 from 6 PM to 8 PM in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 4th, 2018 at 11:30 AM in Macedonia Baptist Church. The interment will immediately follow at 1 PM in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
