Obituary for Jill Lane Metz

Jill Lane Metz, daughter of Lucille Heil Lane, was born in Lexington, Missouri, on March 12 in the year of our Lord 1966. She was baptized on March 29, 1966 and became a child of God. On June 26, 1993, she was joined together in holy matrimony to David Keith Metz. David and Jill were blessed with four children: Emma, Audra, Reed, and Scott. Jill was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Ezell Lane. She is survived by her husband, David, and her children Emma, Audra, Reed, and Scott. Additionally, Jill is survived by her mother Lucille of Norborne, MO; her sister Beth (Jeff) Carter of St. Louis, MO; her brother Scott (Candy) Lane of Dallas, TX; her sister Gaye (David) Carpenter of Hardin, MO; and her brother Max Lane of Newburyport, MA. Jill also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Ross, Anne, Ruth, Bruce, Erin, Gavin, Ava, Daniel, Mark, Michael, Alexis, and Hunter. Jill served God with the many gifts and talents He gave her in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community. On March 16 in the year of our Lord 2018, after a six-year battle with cancer, God blessed Jill with a holy death and took her home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.

The visitation will be held at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogersville, MO on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5 PM- 8PM. The funeral will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield, MO on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10 AM with the graveside service immediately following the funeral service at Turners Cemetery in Turners, MO.

The family requests that donations be made in Jill’s honor for the children’s college education payable to: Missouri’s 529 College Savings Plan. Donations may be mailed and addressed as follows:
