Obituary for William Robert ""Bob"" Woosley

William Robert “Bob” Woosley returned to his heavenly home on March 15, 2018, after celebrating his 95th birthday on February 9. Bob is survived by Geraldine “Jeri” Banghart Woosley, his devoted and loving wife of 71 years. Bob and Jeri were blessed with five children. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Nolan Woosley and is survived by his daughters, Shela Dean and Jenny Romanelli, and his sons, Brian Woosley and David Woosley. He is also survived by his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Bob was a hard worker and an enterprising entrepreneur. In 1948, Bob and Jeri left their home state of Missouri to make their fortune in California. But, in their hearts, Missouri was always home. After creating and selling a successful business, investing and developing real estate, and building not one, but two homes, from the ground up with their own two hands, Bob and Jeri retired to Springfield in 1978 and have lived there ever since. Bob had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, especially with his friends. He loved his church, his family, his cats, and playing the guitar. Anyone lucky enough to hear him play knew that he could give Chet Atkins a run for his money! Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 20, 2018, 3:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00pm, also at Greenlawn North. Bob will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors following the service.
