Obituary for Gearadine Elizabeth Bull

Gearadine Elizabeth Bull
Gearadine Elizabeth Bull

Gearadine Elizabeth ‘Geri’ Bull, 75 of Springfield, Missouri went to be with the Lord at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Gearadine was born on November 15, 1942 in Lone Rock, Iowa to Eppie and Margaret (Gerdis) Westendorf.

She married Lawrence Bull, on August 26, 1961. Geri was a devoted wife, loving and caring for Larry even during her own illness. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She put her heart into making her family feel loved. Each of her children and grandchildren felt treasured and adored.

She loved Jesus and prayed continually for her husband, children, grandchildren and her loved ones back home. She often took in extended family in need as well as friends of her children. Everyone who entered her home felt loved and accepted.

Geri had many talents with the most notable to many being her cooking and baking. She could take an ordinary recipe and make it something special with a “little bit” of one thing and a “dab” of another and of course, butter. Holiday meals were second to none and better still was waking up to the smell of her coveted cinnamon rolls. If you’ve ever had them, you remember them. She loved to decorate for holidays. Christmas decorating started the minute the Thanksgiving meal was cleared away and continued for days. She was a giver and Christmas was another opportunity for her to spoil the grandkids abundantly. Her gift was the smiles on their faces emerging from the piles of wrapping paper scattered across the living room floor. They were very special times that will never be forgotten with her memorable laugh and beautiful smile.

Gearadine is survived by daughter Rene Bull, son Doug and his wife Kristal Bull, daughter Mari Bull, son John and his wife Lisa Bull, and son Dan and his wife Stacey Bull. Grandchildren, Cara and her husband Sean Cross, Theo Sfortunato, Garrett and his wife Lexi Bull, Madison Bull, Evan Bull and his fiance’ Denise Pelton, Preston Bull, and Abigail Bull. Gearadine is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bull, her parents Eppie and Margaret Westendorf, brother Don and David Westendorf and grandson Travis Charles Allen.

She was truly a joy to be around and her life brought happiness and love to so many.
She will be missed by many and her memory will tenderly remain with each of us.

A very special thank you to the staff of Faith Hospice of the Ozarks and Maranatha Village.

A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East to celebrate her life and many wonderful memories.
