Barbara June Scott April 9, 1933 - January 19, 2018 Our Matriarch has ‘finally raised her family’ and gone to be with her Lord. A truly one of a kind, strong willed, God loving woman. Barbara was born to Rubin and Mamie Givens on April 9, 1933 in Morehouse, MO where she attended and completed all her years of schooling. Barbara went on to spend many years in Bowling Green, MO. She wed the love of her life, Kenneth “Jack” Scott on October 14, 1953 in Hannibal, MO. Barbara became a local business owner, running a clothing store for nearly 25 years. She was a women's “Libber” before the term was invented. All the while she and Jack raised two fiercely driven children, Cindy and Allen. The family were avid members of the 2nd Baptist Church of Bowling Green. Barbara resided with her family in Springfield, MO since the early 80’s. She became a Grandmother, her true calling. She was very involved in every aspect of her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren’s lives devoting herself to her “Doll-boy and Doll-girl”; Adam Graver and Sarah Graver Mayfield. Years later welcoming Brandi Peterson Knapp and Elise Peterson as her very own Granddaughters through marriage. An amazing woman, loving wife, caring Mother, adventurous reader, lover of politics, tremendous cook and entertainer, wonderful friend and more than anything - the best Grandmother. Barbara has gone from collecting angels throughout her lifetime to becoming an angel herself.
