Condolence From: Jackie Cook
Condolence: Maybe it should have been the other way around when it comes to who taught whom more. Mike was my student, one of “my five kids,” for five years in the 1980s. Oh, the many lessons that child taught me! Such an effervescent boy, just full of life & fun & giggles or belly laughs & teasing & endless energy. When I felt that tap on my shoulder, a tap that got increasingly stronger the longer I delayed, it was Mike who was signing cookie, apple or, almost always, outside. Just a truly beautiful soul who had so much patience in trying to help us understand whatever he was “explaining.” Every child should have a mama who was as dedicated as Pam was to Mike. It was only because of her determination that he thrived. Thank you, Pam, for sharing that glorious boy with me. And my eternal thanks to both of you all that you taught me.
